Dr. Steven Hyland Jr. has obtained the Sustainable Finance Certificate from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. He has many years experience in ESG, sustainability, and climate risk analysis and has frequently published on these topics. His recent research has focused on capital markets, sustainable finance, and ESG integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. His writings have appeared in popular press outlets Value Walk, Yahoo Finance, the Huffington Post, and the Raleigh News and Observer, as well as academic journals and public affairs publications.
Dr. Hyland's research skills span diverse topics, including Modern Latin America, Transnational Migration, Capital Markets, Sustainable Finance, and Sustainable Development.
He has received numerous accolades and awards for his scholarly contributions, including a Fulbright Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Humanities grant, the Alfred B. Thomas Book Prize from the Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies and the RMCLAS Article Award from the Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies.
Dr. Hyland is an accomplished historian and academic leader currently serving as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of History and Political Science at Wingate University. He holds a Ph.D. in History from The Ohio State University, a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the same institution.
