Taylor Hodge

Taylor Hodge is an seasoned environmental justice and sustainability researcher and leader. She has worked for The Sierra Club, Planet Tracker, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Lead Locally, the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, Big Easy Magazine, and The Armenia Tree Project covering a range of ESG related work. Her career highlights include leading a team of organizers to defeat Amendment 5, which would have allowed petrochemical companies to avoid paying property taxes, completing a 2-month long project with Planet Tracker researching petrochemical pollution and Industrial tax exemptions in Cancer Alley, publishing a variety of articles relating to local climate and environmental justice issues for Big Easy Magazine that can be viewed at https://thodge.journoportfolio.com, coordinating a cohort of Black women-led grassroots environmental justice organizations with the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, and volunteering in Armenia for 10 months through Armenian Birthright. 

Taylor holds degrees in English Literature with a Creative Writing emphasis and Environmental Studies from Tulane University. Her work is heavily motivated by her lived experience, as her hometown of Lawrence hosted one of the few coal power plants in Kansas and New Orleans faces some of the most immediate and horrific environmental impacts, both from the petrochemical industry and climate change, in the world. 

In her free time, she's learning Armenian, gardening, and playing as many sports as possible.
