Flavio Affinito, Ph.D. pending

Flavio is a scientist turned entrepreneur and back again. His passion for biodiversity conservation, especially of marine systems, led him to spend time working around the world in countries as diverse as South Africa, Montenegro, Thailand and Canada. He has experience managing teams working in the private and NGO sectors. His commitment to a sustainable transition led him to lead projects focused on education, conservation and pollution reduction, raising ten of thousands of dollars in the process from private investors, national governments and concerned individuals. Currently, he is in the process of acquiring a PhD in biology focussed on developing tools for Canada and the global community to report on their progress towards the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity Global Biodiversity Framework. Flavio won several awards recognizing his efforts in the clean tech startup sphere and was featured on national radio for his scientific work.
