Michiel Hendriksz

Since 2015 Michiel has served as the Executive Director of the  FarmStrong Foundation, an organisation that designs, implements and monitors integrated sustainable agricultural production systems and climate resilient rural development programs. Prior to FarmStrong, Michiel worked 16 years for the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). His last position was Director of Sustainability for ADM Cocoa (2009-2015). Prior to that he was the Head of Sourcing & Trading. Michiel has a B.Sc. in Tropical Agronomy (Netherlands), a M.Sc. (Agri-Business) from Cranfield University (England), and a post-graduate Executive Education diploma from Harvard University’s, John F. Kennedy School. He is fluent in Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Italian and English. He is a keen user of Earth Observation techniques to evaluate objectively the progress of the programs on the ground, but above all determined to make a difference and create positive impact on the livelihoods of the smallholder farmer families and communities (The People) in the FarmStrong programs.
