Aparna Sundaram is a sustainable finance expert with extensive experience in credit and risk analytics in the infrastructure, petrochemicals / plastics, renewable energy, and real estate sectors. Aparna started her career on Wall Street in 1995 at Bankers Trust Company, New York in U.S. Dollar Swaps and FX derivatives. She then moved to Asia and launched two businesses in Lhasa and Chengdu, one of which has become the national restaurant group –Makye Ame– with 7+ locations around China. After studying for her MBA and MSc at the University of Michigan as an Erb Institute Fellow, in 2009, Aparna returned to Wall Street as VP, Capital Markets, at Storm Harbour Partners focused on equity fundraising and credit risk analytics. For example, she originated energy, efficiency, specialty finance, and sustainability deals, created financial structures, models, documents and fundraising strategies; and marketed early and mid-stage projects and firms.

Marketed $250 million Brazilian sugar mill fund and facilitated analysis by 10+ investors in New York, London, and Dubai, yielding advanced diligence by $3.3 trillion asset manager.
Sourced $250 million solar and $1 billion affordable housing deals and analyzed market and investor appetites and structured offerings, resulting in $15+ million in potential revenue.
Built financial model for two-tiered receivables-based credit facilities for $250 million transaction in Mexico leading to diligence by syndicate of major banks.
She has since worked for boutiques, such as Coady Diemar Partners and Javelin Capital, on both equity and debt desks, as well as private equity firms like Pegasus Capital Advisors and ClearWorld Energy Ventures in Beijing. In these roles, notable deals include:
Created offering documents for automotive oil recycling firm and marketed deal, leading to $15 million negotiation with a regional bank.
Created investment cases and dynamic financial models for energy investment group, yielding $15MM investments into local NY energy businesses and 12% growth in profits within 3 months.
Finally, Aparna worked for Planet Tracker under Gabriel Thoumi as a lead analyst supporting the production of the Minderoo Plastic Waste Makers Index methodology when Mr Thoumi was Head of the Plastics Programme at Planet Tracker.
