William Hsu

William Hsu started his career as a field biologist and has over 10 years of experience in sustainability. He was most recently an ESG Analyst with Barclays where he led on topics such as biodiversity, climate risks, emissions, green transition, labor, water, and wildfires. His interdisciplinary career spanned public, private, and non-profit sectors. He created CDP’s Accelerator program to support partnerships on sustainable infrastructure projects. As an urban planner with the City of Los Angeles, he passed several legislative packages for affordable housing most notably the Transit Oriented Communities Affordable Housing Guidelines which has resulted in over 44,000 new housing units proposed as of 2022. He holds a M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia, a M.A. in Environmental Social Science from Arizona State University, and a B.A. in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
